DEPRESSION

Nobody can say that there are some people who have not experienced stress at least once in life.  It is an indispensible phenomenon in the walk of life.   We cannot live without stress. Because it is indispensible. It also helps us to maintain our psychological health to an extent. But if it continues, it becomes a disease called Depression. Once in Egyptian literature, this disease was known as Melancholia and the same is now known as Depression.

This disease varies in different parts of the world as per the culture, religion, societies  etc. In some religion,  this disease is innumerable. Depression accompanies with some diseases and plays an important role for causing many diseases. When we got a disease, we forget the reason and we treat only to that disease.  For eg. BP, Diabetes Mellitus,  Cholesterol, etc. This may have different reasons, but the one unknown reason is Depression.  Nobody is taking attention to treat our  mental ill condition, which is causing to many physiological diseases, because of the least importance of study of Psychiatry or Psychology in our country. In Europe and America, people have good muscle power, because they maintain their mind power also. Many of us are trying to increase our muscle strength and beauty, by going to Gym or Beauty Centre. But very rare people are there who care to have a healthy and powerful mind.

All of us bear tension and misery. It calms within one or two days or in a week. But some people are there who are lone and borne silently  without saying anything to others about their tension. After sometime, it becomes permanent in their mind and they don’t know one disease is forming in their mind.

To study Depression, we must study many things. As this article may become long and boring, we can study it briefly.  It would be an asset in our treasury of knowledge.

What is Depression?   

The in-equilibrium of our system of neurotransmission of Automatic Nervous system in brain, causes to many dreadful conditions, in physical and psychological level.  All of these result into Depression.  We experience this in mind, but origin of this comes from brain only. Continuing miserable conditions and tensions, lead to bio-chemical changes in neurotransmission and thereby in-equilibrium leads to condition like Depression.

Depression is a Mood disorder. If the bio-chemical flow done by neurotransmission, varies from a constant level, it is a Mood disorder.

Symptoms

We feel Depression in different psychological and physiological sick conditions. But nobody thinks it is Depression. Very rare people realize the Depression which causes to many diseases.  Even if they know, ignore the same saying it is a head ache or gas trouble or tension from lost love of lover. See some symptoms below;

1)    Having interest in nothing. Loneliness.
2)    Misery without reason, fatigue etc.
3)    Hatred, Sudden Angriness
4)    Reasonless Anxiety,  Fear, Insomnia
5)    Least appetites and sometimes more appetites.
6)    Sleep more or less

We see somebody says no mood, feel fatigue etc. If these symptoms are controled suddenly no problem. But reasonless fear, failure feeling, worthlessness, helplessness, hopelessness, cannot sleep, sit or stand. These require more attention. If these symptoms and first said symptoms, both seen in one person, it is Depression.

Children, Teens have got tensions and may not be expressed in the face. Loneliness, angry, study problems, stomach ache, head ace, anything may be the symptoms.

Older aged people may express their, tension, sorrow etc. in their face. Bad memory, angry,  long sickness,  anxiety of their sickness, debts, all are reasons prone to Depression and thereby may lead to suicide.

Stress and depression

Stress is an auto defense technique of our mind, controlled by our automatic nervous system, to defend against pressure  situation.  Everybody experiences stress. Even children also experience this.   In an adult,   this stress will be serious.  In both the case, if it continues more than some period of time, say more than  2  weeks, it becomes depression. Stress is not a disease, but depression is a disease.

Depression is not formed suddenly. It forms gradually. Our stress level must be controlled every day.  Always, as everybody is concerned, it is not a viable thing.   Some techniques are there to control the same.   All of us have cycle of stress, which is known as Stress Cycle. It is just like  rotating from one point and comes back to same point.  So it would be better to look into  stress cycle also.
 
Stress cycle and formation of  Depression

When we have interest in medical awareness, we must study some medical facts also.  Here we can see how the depression forms;

There are three parts in the brain related to depression, viz, Hypothalamus, Limbic System and Pituitary  and three Mono Amines or Neurotransmitters, viz,   Dopamine, Epinephrine, Serotonin. 

As we experience stress, as a first step of defense against stress, Limbic system gives the required defense to alert against stress. To normalize the mental calmness, firstly Limbic System expels some neurotransmitters like dopamine, epinephrine and serotonin. These travels to Hypothalamus and  it produces some hormone releasing chemicals like  Adreno  Cortico Tropic hormones . These reach to Pituitary gland. Then Pituitary gland produces some stimulating factors which are  required to important organs to defend well against stress. These factors  join in the blood stream and reach to certain glands like Thyroid and Adrenal medulla etc. These glands produce regulating factors like Steroid and these also join in blood stream and travels again to Limbic system.  Then the neurotransmitters like serotonin which increase the stress, will be inactivated. Everybody has this cycle to regulate high stress level to normalcy. This is known as stress cycle. 

This regularly happens in everybody. But if  stress continues more than 2  weeks,  it leads to a disease called Depression.  Because for them, the Hypothalamus Pituitary  Axis gets damaged and may trigger Depression.  But, still the Adrenal Cortex continues to release the releasing factors like Steroid, which is prone to disease again. If we deliberately try to control our stress, the production of releasing factors stops slowly.

Diversion of Depression

Certain people will never accept, if somebody has a disease like depression. If ignored this will divert to some other illness. Still then we, the common people will not accept these illness are from the consequence of Depression.  Depression may divert to other psychological or physiological sick condition. Eg. Psychosis, Heart disease etc. 

Somebody may experience diseases like head ache, stomach ache, pains in joints, heart etc.  Afraid patient meet  a doctor and when consulting with doctor, he instructs to have a check up and will get report “nothing abnormal”.  Whole life somebody will be wandering hospitals and doctors  one after another. But will never be cured.

Some cases of suicide and road accidents are the result of long borne Depression.

Reasons

Many reasons are there. Still some common reasons are given below;

1)    Tortures, abuses and bad experiences in the period  of infancy, childhood and adolescence and penetration of its consequences in genes, may lead to Depression in future.
2)    Heredity. In some family this shows main reason.
3)    Broken relationships with friends and relatives.
4)    Death or long separation of close relatives and family. Death is natural phenomenon, still somebody is not able to accept the same.
5)    Divorce, Losing of employment, starting new establishments etc.
6)    Psychological and physiological chronic illnesses.

Except those above written, some peculiar reasons are there in modern life. See some of those below

Smoking, Gudka, Alcoholism, Insomnia, Face book Fever, Sorrowful ending of Cinema or serial, lack of fish foods intake. These may  feel eccentric, but true in a modern life.

Different Types of Depression

There are mainly three types of Depression;

1)    Melancholic
In this type, person cannot sleep well, do not eat well, without interest in sex
2)    Atypical
This may be opposite to Melancholic. Here increase in sleep, appetites, sex, obesity etc. will be seen.
3)    Psychotic
Here, patient shows psychotic symptoms also. Fears that somebody comes to kill, enemies everywhere etc. just like a phobia.

And other types are as

4)    Post Partum Depression – PPD
This is neonatal depression specially happens in  women, after delivery. In some countries, this case is in 1 out of every 8 woman. Normally PPD is in 5% to 25% after child birth.

5)    Endogenous, exogenous, unipolar, bipolar and  dysthymia.

Anyhow, the basic reasons are  as described above. According to the circumstances of daily living, this will be differed and classified as above. 

How to cure Depression

Some changes in life can take off Depression. See some ways to cure the same;

1)    Keep some disciplines in life. Get up early and correct time etc.
2)    Start simple exercises like, walking, swimming, jogging etc. atleast 30 mins. in a day. This will create more endorphin in the body which is fighting against stress.
3)    Some foods which are rich in omega 3 fatty acids, folic acids etc. will help. Fishes, Vegetables, Fruits are rich sources.
4)    Try to have sound sleep. Avoid anything to disturb sleep.
5)    Do some works with responsibility. If you do not have any responsibility, take something.
6)    Destroy discouraging thoughts like I am worthless, helpless, failure thoughts etc, Realize what we think is not right. There would be so many others those who are liking you, your creations etc.
7)    If nothing seems under control, do not hesitate to consult a counselor or psychologist or psychiatrist.
8)    Do the things you never did. If you do not have reading habit, start it. If you do not like hear music, start it. etc. Thought changes will help to change bio-chemicals in brain and thereby  create dopamine (a pleasure increasing hormone)..
9)    If all of above did not help you to turn you happy and calm,  we can assume depression, still try again and again or consult with a doctor.

Those who are having good education, culture, healthy heredity, good sense, discretion etc would be healthy in mind and body. They do not have superstitions. They would have calm, peaceful mind. They are not anxious about future, sickness etc. But education only is not enough, we must have experience and intellect. We must study new things daily. Those who are educated, mentally healthy, maintaining healthy social relations, would not have psychological defects.

FAMILY – A SACRED INSTITUTION

A family should be a foundation of all morale and practicing good manners. We (family members) should be capable of making our home, a good academy or a sacred place.

House – an Academy

To form a Child’s personality and character, our own house is the most influential place than  any worship place or educational institutions. This influence shows its foundation during the period of childhood. Parent’s deeds and  behaviors are  most important here. Each and every word, sentence, activity etc. may make way for wonderful changes to a child’s thinking at his/her age.  If each activity of parents intends to a positive side, this may root cause an equal electro-magnetic waves to the neurons of  the newly growing brain of the children. Whereas, if the activity intends to the negative side, this may cause to a contrary effect. Here we can see an indirect paradigm, cause to a direct influence to the formation of character in children.  Eg: if a parent does his duties, love family, involve in public helps and this will surely inspire to very good effect upon children. Here, even if there is no need of good advice, there is a  strong guidance to follow him and sway to become a good person with good self-esteem. Support of Super Ego of his mind, makes him to secure every quality of life. On the contrary, if a parent does not do his duties or love his family or society, a horrific result will be seen in the behaviors of children. Here the pressure of Eid exceeds and supports him to do every wicked activity. Because he got a bad exemplar and justifies himself that “I got a bad example and why  should I not be so?”. Whereas, if the parent thinks that I have a bad experience, because of my deeds and it should not be borne by the offspring, and he becomes a good man, then this may become a good inspiration to the children to become a good person.

Spending time with children

In this modern life, very rare people have ½ hour time to spend with the children. The children always like to have the expression of love towards them. To understand a child’s mind, parents should themselves become as like as a child and step down to their mind. Who has time to spend with the child telling some short stories, jokes etc.? The main culprits are Watching the T.V. serials. In the modern life,  these serials or T.V. programs have become a main part of formation of character among children. 

Businessmen will never get time to spend time with children. If parent do not express or exhibit the activity, the children never understand them. So it is important to show off the action before children. Otherwise, the minds will be like two poles. Children think parents are not loving them and parents think that “still we love the children so much, why they don’t understand us”. Some parents think the love is providing enough money and all facilities to the children. But spending sometime with them, a call with love, a touch, an indulgence, a smile at them, these are enough to make them understand that the parents are loving. Then only they will realize the true love and affection of the parents.

It is a good encouragement to  the children if the environment of family’s situation is very good. The child always observes every elder member’s activities and behaviors. If a family is in a criminal background, there is no wonder if the child goes to a juvenile crime by imitating elders at home and there is a chance of child become criminal in future. They always justify themselves that their family is also in same path. Even then rare people are there who have become good individuals, by studying from the experience and consequence of bad background of the family. Eg: A mother doing hard work in daily wages. Father also doing the same job. Father being an alcoholic, vanishes the earnings earned even by mother and slowly family sinks into misery. Everyday mother mourns and seeing mother’s mourning, the son may not follow his father’s path in future. On the contrary, he may take life as a challenge and become good person.

Guardian/parents be role-models

If the parents are living with love and care without any insurgence at home, it will be a good inspiration to the children. Anyhow imitation starts at home as the children who watch every movement of elders at home, secondly from society, school, and peer group etc.

In some brain parts like hippocampus, frontal cortex, there are some neurons (mirror neurons) which absorb the image in front of eyes like a mirror and  encode it in brain. This continues up to the age of 11. So in this growing age, parents should take care to show good manners to them. In these days, prayers at home seen very rare (in any religion). Somebody thinks this will be the reason of children’s bad nature. Let us think, only by a prayer or visiting a worship place, will a child become a good person? Ok, those are not bad, but the most sacred place is our own home. Everybody tell to children, please love God and we will be blessed. How many parents tell them to love others as themselves? Love, care, patience, sharing, tolerance etc. are studied by the activities of parents.


Today, no children have time to read good moral books, educational books etc. When reaching teenage period, where the children entering into the threshold of maturity, immature thoughts (sorrow, fear, enmity, jealousy etc.) removing time (dendrites pruning time), the influence of the growing circumstances, than the instinct, exists in the brain. This is the time to develop good thoughts and involve in the creative works. If we show good moral character, we can make our home a heavenly place.  We can make our home a temple of goodness with an extra-ordinary serenity.

Have a good sleep   

The best medicine for the body is sleep. During the night sleep, healing chemicals are released in the body, and have restorative effects on all the organs. Deep sleep is having the appearance altering benefits. Even the deep sleep from a nap has the same healing ability. Sleep has many benefits.

It improves the texture and condition of the skin.
It helps to prevent the production of harmful stress chemicals
Increases health, creativity and concerntration
It strengthens the human body and mind
It boosts energy and brainpower
It gives tranquility to brain.

Sleep activates the immune system which fights illness and helps to keep the human body disease free

Sleep slows down the aging process, and helps us to live longer and healthier lives.

Sleep improves our ability to positively deal with physical, mental and emotional tasks.

Leaving to improve the quality of your sleep is one of the most important investments in health. Poor sleep reduces bodily and mental functions the following day. It causes the body to overproduce the hormone Cortisol into the bloodstream. This hormone is a reaction to stress and is very harmful to the body. It takes many hours and sometimes days for this Cortisol to leave the bloodstream. The anxiety is a production of Cortisol hormone from which your body struggles of fear. This harms the body and organs, and can leave you unable to rest every time.

If you find that you do not feel well, cannot sleep and are anxious, Cortisol may in your bloodstream.  Drink plenty of water to minimize this hormone from your body. Complete this self care by relaxing and resting your body. Drink milk before bed to help you drift into a peaceful sleep. Eat healthy foods at regular intervals throughout the day to prevent the production of stress hormones and low blood sugar both of which can lead to anxiety and interfere with you sleep. Before bedtime have good thinking and a relaxing routine. Dim the lights and shut off electronics like the television or computer in the hours prior to sleep. This will help you to unwind and relax.

If you have trouble sleeping, lie down comfortably and just relax, and focus only on breathing and resting your body. This will help both your body and mind to relax.

Every body is able to orate the universal love and affection, but when we take the case of unconditional love, the reality of struggle, patience, tolerance of any emotion, etc, revoke somebody from the practival side. Practically and really provide the helping hands to the poor and deserved, is a crucial one and we see such individuals in this planet also, eg. Mother Teresa, Baba Amte, Fr. Damian etc. Their love is unconditional and they show us the opportunity to love in their way.

Of course it takes determined efforts on our part as the old ways of being are quick to return in our mind. However, if we try to love and this effort to love are rewarded with a new perspective on everything and all life benefits as a result.

Let Us Forget the Past

The time gone is as like as a cell dead in a body, clinging to past misery and hurt does not empower you, it drags you down. Catch the thought of the past and replace it with one of your happiest memories.

Stop Sad Memory

Try to make things smaller. In your mind, take a snapshot of the things that have caused you hurt or pain. Try to cover all the past things with your fun/jokes which you have made and refill the mind with joy at the present time.

See the Good and Bright Side

When you’ve been slightly disappointed by love, remaining optimistic can take some effort. Try turning your thinking upside down. Do not expect anything. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the outcome when you re-adjust your mind and you will see the peace in void.

Stop Run to Conclusions

Do not make assumptions, which are often wrong and burns up mental energy. It could be used for better things. Don’t over-analyze every tiny detail by mentally playing out possible outcomes from every situation and encounter. Pay attention to the present and do not predict the future life. Everybody is supposed to have a thankful mind to four side things. Each and every day there is something you can be thankful for. Acknowledge a hard-earned achievement, a small success, a personal milestone or even something as simple as having fresh, clean water to drink. Be humble. Be polite and humility. Be grateful and feel the sense of contentment come from within.

Stop the Noise – Be Serene

Serenity is deriving from within, but when we think of others and forget ours. Serenity can’t exist in a life filled with noise and clutter. Everywhere, we observe the noise replace serenity. Make a point of turning down the volume on things that are not essential to your well-being. Make others come to level of serenity by achieving the involvement in the problems of others and it doesn’t make you a bad person, but a more peaceful one.

How to control Gas/Acidity


It is very rare people who do not have gas/acidity problem at least once in a life time. It is important that for anything, there will be a positive and negative side. Those people are succeeded in everything who lead life between these two sides. Those who lead like this, viz. in a moderate level are healthy and long lived in this world.  Somebody will be extreme type in any behavior and somebody will be below the moderate level. Their health will also be in fluctuation. But those who are in moderate level, their health will be the best. So we can choose Moderate level in life.

In this way, to control Gas or Acidity, we have to choose a moderate food habit. We must do some exercise or job. There are two types of food, we take daily. They are alkaline and acid types.  We can keep safe from gas/acidity if we do exercise and keep equilibrium of above mentioned habits. But how to keep this equilibrium?. We are taking alkaline foods and acid foods. Alkaline is good for avoiding gas. But acid food is also inevitable for body. So we can keep ratio as 75% alkaline foods and 25% acid foods. All fruits and some items in vegetables are alkaline foods. Non-veg foods and some veg items are acid foods. Now a days everybody knows fruits and vegetables are good.

How to form Gas/Acidity
  
Indigestion, excess digestive enzymes by using acid foods, without proper exercise or work, long time tension/strain. All these are caused to form gas/acidity. Following are the list of acid/alkaline foods. 

Alkaline foods

Banana, grapes, cherry, papaya, lemon, pineapple, tomorrow, cardamom, ginger, coconut, mustard, onion, garlic, pumpkin, brinjal, cabbage, like foods and vegetables.

Acid foods

Potato, egg, green piece, soya beans, oats, rice, sugar, milk, meat, fish, oils, bread, dal etc.

Confusing like a heart attack

Sometime gas/acidity may cause confusion whether it is a heart attack. We will be forced to go to doctor, fearing lest it is a heart attack.  But, somebody may be thinking that it will be only a gas trouble, and there may be chance that it must be a heart attack. Both are problamatic. Gas probably may effect stomach, chest, brain etc.  

Gas and heart burn

Gas forms when we eat acid foods and sit idle. If  we also suffer heart burn, it would be an uncomfortable condition.  Normally gas problems seen in those  who are rich, high lifestyles, fatty people, and those who are obese. Let us see how it happens.  From Esophagus, food travels to Stomach. When we eat food, if it is chewed properly, it would be easy for digestion. Anyhow, in the stomach, the digestion starts with the help of digestive enzymes. There is a valve between Esophagus and Stomach. As soon as the food enters into stomach, this valve closes automatically. This is normal function. But sometimes, this valve opens slightly. This causes the flow of Sulphuric Acid, digestive enzymes like Pepsin, Bile from Bile Duct, into the Esophagus. This results into a severe Heart Burn.

Gas/Acidity = Ulcer

If we control gas/acidity properly, after sometime this may convert into Ulcer. Because the digestive enzymes are the acids which can digest the foods. If the excess gas exists in the system, and if we do exercise or do hard work,   this acidity will disappear and we can gain health. Otherwise, what happens. By the excess acid, the soft membrane wall in the intestine may get inflamed and pored. This soft membrane is capable of bearing the heat of acids. But the normal skin cannot bear this heat. So, when this acid acts into these pores there will be inflammation to that skin. This is Ulcer. Once it has become Ulcer, it would be very painful if we eat spices.

How to get rid of Gas/Acidity problem

Eat alkaline foods like fruits and vegetables. Take easy digesting foods. But beware if you are having thyroid problem, do not always use Cabbage, Use small quantity of tomato, if you have kidney stone, gall bladder stone etc., Eat small quantity of fish items, and in fruits Apple, if you suffer from Piles. Do exercise and eat alkaline foods. Any type of cardio vascular/ aerobic exercises, like walking, running, swimming, cycling etc. are good enough. Yogasanas like Pavanamukthasan, Pranayama, Janusirasan, Halsasan, etc. are good. But do only under an experienced instructor. Remember, if somebody suffers from Hernia, Diarrhea, Hyper Thyroidism, do not practice Yogasana. For everybody cardio vascular/ aerobic exercises are good. If no relief from these lifestyles, rush to doctor and take proper treatment.

People normally take antacid tablets to control gas trouble. But instead of taking regularly these types of medicines, it would be better to do cardio vascular/ aerobic exercises and taking a moderate level of alkaline foods. Secondly, self medication is not good. Instead, try to be in good food habits. Always take a very small quantity food at night. If gas problem is a regular one, take food 3 hours before going to bed. In normal stage also take at least  one hour before bed time. For small gas problems, it is not necessary to go to a doctor. But if you suffer from stomach ache, throat ache, abnormal appetite, we must consult with a doctor.

If we do regular exercise or work, good food habit, free from tension, and understand the facts of our own body language and condition, we will be free from diseases.

Mania

Everybody knows a fact that we need good mood to do or to speak. Mania is a part of condition of mind like mood disorders. There is unique level in every field like minimum level, maximum level and in between these levels, the central level is required level. The welness of mind and body, depends on this level and always good will be in the central or moderate level. If this level is out of boarder levels, viz, below the minimum and above the maximum, the problems start. We can see even in physical world, eg, if the electricity load will be more than required, the fuse wire will be cut by overload or if there is not enough electricity the bulbs will not light up. If the sun’s heat will be more or if temperature will be very low, there will be problem to life. In our body itself, so many problems are which we do not know, eg; if the sugar in the blood will be more, it would be a hyper glizemia and when it is low, it would be hypo glizemia. If the pressure in the blood is higher than required level, it would be hyper tension and when it is low, it would be hypo tension. If the water in body is low, there will be problem and when it is high also, there will be problem. Anyhow, anything what we need must be in normal level. Here in the case of mood also, the normal level of mood is important for normal level of mind.

See one of my experience. Once an young person joined in my office. As he was an admin person, ours were the same cabin. I noticed him from the begining, there was some abnormality in his all deeds. He was so talkative, restless, behaviour that feels he knows everything, many projects, phone calls, plans, impatient to anything, such types of actions were being done. Once I jokely, told him that “you are a half mad” (because if I told him seriously, it would affect his mind and this type of men, would never accept that they have got some problems). Actually he was a man with mania. Since he joined here, he had been going for interviews in other companies, once in a week. But he never passed interview till he was terminated after one year.

We are interested to see a doctor if we are suffering from any minor illness. But in the case of psychological illness, the public are least interested to cure it or to see a doctor. In the consequence, the unrecognized illness of mind is increased, such types of so many cases are among common men. The above said story is an example. These men face failures and hatred in life.

What is mania ?

We need a good sense to determine the things to be done and seen with all its real meaning. To do the same, we need good mood. If an adequate mood which we need, breaks or increased, a condition called mania will be formed in our mind. This inequality of mood, is mania.

Somebody tells, I do not have mood to do anything or there is a mood out. Actually, this is a common saying, because when the common people bored or getting lonely, they feel a boredom and so this can not be taken as mania or mood disorder. But somebody thinks more, or do more things, or showing exaggeration by unlimited phone calls, always busy busy, there will be a mood disorder. This is a hereditary illness, but it may also happen without heredity. Sometimes, this may been seen with depression and shown psychotic symptoms. This is known as manic depressive psychosis.

Mania may lead to depression also. This is known as bipolar depression. Depression also happens without mania and this known as unipolar depression.

Symptoms

Patient has plenty of ideas
Phone calls
Deeds without real sense
Projects
Watching TV, etc. etc. with high volume
Purchasing goods and thereby lavishness
Always busy. No free time.
Irritation.
Insomnia
Even if no sleep, no weakness.

The above said things are related to mania and not there will be also added some psychotic symptoms. Here in manic depressive psychosis, both symtoms will be shown. And there will be shown the symptoms of both also.

In this way, if you see anybody with the above symptoms, go to a doctor and instruct for a better treatment in the early stage. If it is done in early stage, we can develop a good personality and win in life.

Peace of mind and human brain

Peace of mind is an important thing in human’s life. But it is very difficult to achieve. There is a relation between our brain and peace of mind. It is very good if we could keep calmness in a job with pressurable situation. To keep the peace, we can do one thing is that we do retreat, prayer, meditation and yoga etc. The meaning of those things are to control our 5 senses of brain and thereby to achieve the tranquility. Is it not good to do things with calmness in a pressurable situation? One can control the speed of mind to achieve the power of mind and tranquility. That is the reason in Yoga, it is said that “power of mind depends upon the controlling the speed of mind”.

As we think, the mind is not an organ of body. It is purely a condition of thinking by the process of brain. Scientifically, it is the total work of brain. It may be just like as we see sky, or cloud. Our brain is like a super computer. It is made of neurons. Mind is a phenomen by the work of neurons. Our thoughts are transmitted by a process called neurotransmission in the neurons. It is like an electrical message. When one has got a new thought, there is a new transmission starts. When the human thoughts are good, the transmission would also be good. Whereas, if the transmission exceeds or decreases without control, the psychological problems will start.

In the neurons, there is part called dendrites. When the brain grows, this also develops. But to control its excess growth, there is process in the brain called pruning. This important process happens at the time of adolescence. This process is technically an eradication of unnecessary information and memory in the brain and this time is very useful to lay a foundation of fundamental and basic good behaviours in an individual’s life. Since the adolescence is termed as an important time in human’s life. Here the meditation ways play an important role to fulfill these all. Dendrites are made like the wiring in a super computer. When there is any defect in the wiring, the machine also will be in defect. Same way, if the dendrites are in defect, psychological/psychiatrical defects starts. If theses defects corrects in the appropriate time, the individual grows perfectly and becomes normal person. Here the meditation ways helps people a lot and thereby the good neurotransmission paths develop. Now this way, it helps people to survive all the temptations from the society.

SWINE FLU

Recently people are panic of Swine Flu which infection comes faster and everybody keeps covered mouth and nose with mask or towel. But after the real understanding of how to infect others, the usage of masks and towels are reduced. The awareness of the flu from the media, doctors etc. helped the people more how to save themselves. The spreading of virus when people sneezing, coughing will go upto a distance of 1 meter, according to a doctor. The fact is that the patient should wear masks and towels, whenever sneezing or coughig, or even normal time. It will save others those who are not having flu. The usage of mask or towel will reduce our immunity power and if we do not use it, contrarily if we do not use the same, it will increase immunity power to our body. Actually in our air the virus is already there and regularly our body is making anti-bodies against that virus. Only infants and older people are in danger zone for which they have to take care wearing masks. Secondly doctors and patient should wear it. Anyhow flues are various types (not only swine flu) and it spreads if we do not take care. We should note one thing that the masks which is available in the market, is not suitable for preventing the virus. It should be N95 Masks. Secondly the masks are having lifetime of one time use only.

When virus invented firstly in 1987, it was seen only in pigs. It was not spreading like today. Because of so many reasons, it came to man also. Now this virus spreads from one man to other man. That is the main reason of panic conditions of the society.
